Silver safety pen

This safety pen was either used or sold by a company in Vejle, Denmark called HP & Søn. Thanks to Claes who pointed me to a little history about this company. It was registered as Harald Pedersen & Søn A/S: “bookbinder and manufacturer of leather goods” in a Danish business catalogue from 1956.

My guess is that the silver overlay was made by a Danish silversmith, but the imprint on the clip is unfortunately unreadable (apart from the “830” denoting the sliver alloy).

I bought the pen with a vintage guest book that may have been part of the set. Apart from one page that’s been torn out, it’s otherwise untouched. The book is securely glued into a wooden box.

After a little surfing through the photos below, I can see that Harald Petersen’s book binding was next-door to a carpenter named S. Brun in 1916, which could be in the same time frame as this set (assuming that it’s a set…) I wonder if Brun made the wooden case for the book, bound by Petersen…
